„You are drinking your coffee alone at a pavement café.
You have no real reason to be here: you’re not meeting anyone, and no one is waiting for you elsewhere. You are anonymous in your own city; no one knows your age, who you are, or what you do for a living. Feel the beating of your heart, take a deep breath, and listen to yourself. Do nothing. Absolutely nothing. Savour those stolen moments.”
According to the book “How to be Parisian Wherever You Are”, this is what you do, to be Parisian. Wherever you are. I’d say: also add a chic, yet sophisticated dress, your favourite denim jacket, a baker boy hat or a wool beret, a cute belt bag and a pair of je-ne-sais-quoi slippers (which can also be worn as loafers) – with an even cuter pair of ankle socks. Then go have a coffee, stroll your streets, get lost in your thoughts and be melancholy for no reason. E voilà!
Enjoy your Parisian moment, wherever you are.
